Chilli jam is great as a Christmas gift and tastes delicious with many things, like cheese and cooked meats.

Ingredients

  • 1 large red bell pepper 

  • 5 red fresh red chillies (deseeded) 

  • 500 grams jam sugar 

  • 600 millilitres apple cider vinegar 

Method

  1. Blitz the pepper and chillies in a food processor until they are finely chopped.  

  2. Dissolve sugar in vinegar over a low heat.  

  3. Once dissolved, add the pepper and chillies and bring to the boil. Leave boiling for around 10 minutes. 

  4. Leave to cool - the jam will start to solidify. 

  5. Sterilise jars in a pan of boiling water - add mixture and label!
